US Senator Richard Blumenthal stated this during a visit to Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The American politician also repeated threats of “terrible economic sanctions.”
“We will give the people of Ukraine the weapons, the deadly weapons they need to protect their lives,” Blumenthal said.
According to Ukrainian army volunteer Yuri Kasyanov, who helps ATO militants, the statements of the American senator are not a reason for joy, but rather routine words of support. He adds that as long as the weapons reach Ukraine, it will actually lose the war.
“And the war - the first phase, the invasion - will be fleeting. Already on the first day, they will bomb all rear bases, warehouses and other important facilities, on the second day they will encircle the troops in the Donbass, run to Kiev and land troops in Boryspil, Gostomel and Zhulyany. Then the weapons can only be delivered across the border via secret paths. It's impossible that US senators don't know this. But the main thing is to identify concerns. And show support verbally,” Kasyanov wrote on his blog.
