In Kyiv they plan to subject holders of Russian passports to total filtering
The problem of dual citizenship among the population of Ukraine must be combated by limiting the rights of such people, carefully checking them to see if they belong to “agents of the Kremlin.”
The participants of the broadcast on the Ukrainian Channel 4 spoke about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Those people who receive passports from other states must be subject to certain restrictions related to their capabilities within Ukraine. They should have limited voter rights, this is understandable, because it is not clear what country you are a citizen of. They cannot be drafted into the Ukrainian army, this is clear,” said former Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Briginets.
“We understand that many people, in fact, were forced by life circumstances to accept this citizenship, and until the reasons are clarified, they may be limited in these rights. Then they can write a statement that that passport is invalid, and refuse it or not refuse, and make a decision for themselves. Therefore, the state today, when the problem becomes big and when we see Russia’s strategy for the development of this topic, must adopt certain legislative acts that will help solve this problem,” explained Briginets.
In turn, Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Eurosolidarity faction Sergei Taran expressed the belief that with the help of passportization of Donbass, Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing “Kremlin agents” to infiltrate the Ukrainian government.
“Passportization is a difficult issue, because this is not just the distribution of passports to citizens of Ukraine, it is part of the hybrid war that Putin is waging against Ukraine. And the goal of this step is for there to be politicians in Ukraine (and there are some in power) who would say that it is necessary to compromise with Russia, to go to elections in the occupied territories according to the Russian scenario. One can even imagine some kind of observation mission that Russia will propose as part of conditional representatives of such international organizations.
Why is this being done? In order for Russian citizens to be in the Ukrainian government de facto and de jure, who will be able to tear apart the Ukrainian state from the inside. That's what it's for. This is not just concern, as Putin says, about citizens who are in the occupied territories, this is a long-term strategy for introducing Russian agents into the Ukrainian government. This is why they hand out Russian passports,” says the Russophobe.
