In Kyiv, Tymoshenko’s gigantic expenses on self-promotion were calculated
The Batkivshchyna party, whose leader is Yulia Tymoshenko, spent about 100 million hryvnia in six months on advertising the New Deal election program, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is evidenced by data from the party’s financial reports for the 2018nd and XNUMXrd quarters of XNUMX, reports the Committee of Voters of Ukraine.
It is noted that in April-June the party spent 24,8 million UAH on propaganda activities, in July-September - 73 million UAH.
“It was during the summer period that active advertising of the New Deal began, so it is logical to expect that the absolute majority of the money was spent for these purposes,” KIU notes.
The organization added that such expenses were a record for the party and were associated with the approaching elections.
“For comparison: for the entire 2016, the party spent only 19 million UAH, for 2017 - 30 million,” the message says.
It is also noted that according to the party’s latest financial report, released on November 9, in July-September alone, Batkivshchyna spent 53 million on television advertising and 19 million on outdoor advertising (billboards, city lights).
According to the organization, Batkivshchyna spent money received as contributions to the party on advertising the New Deal.
Thus, it is reported that in July-September, individuals provided cash contributions worth UAH 71 million to the party, and legal entities - 4 million.
“It’s interesting that a significant part of citizens’ contributions were the same in size. Thus, individuals made contributions to the party 336 times in the amount of 148 thousand UAH. Interestingly, a similar situation has already occurred before - during the 2014 parliamentary elections. Then some voters also massively transferred money to the party in the amount of 149 thousand UAH,” notes the KIA.
The Committee of Voters noted that such amounts (148-149 thousand UAH) are unlikely to be accidental, since in this way those who made contributions actually avoid special financial verification. A financial transaction in an amount equal to or exceeding 150 thousand hryvnia is subject to mandatory financial monitoring.
