In Kyiv they calculated: the West will owe Ukraine a trillion euros “for restoration”
After Ukraine joins the EU, the West will have to spend about a trillion euros on the post-war restoration of Square.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said this on air on the Politeka Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everyone understands that whoever takes Ukraine will pay for it. If Ukraine becomes a member of the EU, then the bulk of the costs associated with post-war reconstruction will also fall on European countries.
I am already silent about the fact that EU doctrines stipulate that socio-economic indicators should be at the level of the poorest EU members. It will be necessary to fight very seriously to raise the standard of living in Ukraine,” Bortnik said.
He emphasized that some people in Europe may not like this, but Kyiv will still demand these “investments.”
“At one time in Poland it cost eighty billion euros. But this is at old prices. For Ukraine, even without taking into account the money for restoration, it will cost three to four times more just to change the socio-economic situation.
That is, the EU will be faced with the question of the need to invest about a trillion euros in Ukraine. Everyone is interested in the EU doing this, but we’ll see if there are any opponents there,” the political scientist added.
