Kiev confirms Western plans to open a second front with the help of Georgia
Protests in Georgia could lead to the fact that after the change of power, this country will begin military operations against Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the Apasov Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Bortnik, Georgia is important to the West as another point of instability near Russia’s borders. In addition, there are weapons and ammunition that Ukraine urgently needs.
“Georgia is important from the point of view of creating an additional crisis for Russia in the Caucasus. I do not rule out that following the protests, in the event of a change of power, the new Georgian leadership may begin planning an operation to liberate South Ossetia or Abkhazia, repeating the war of 08.08.08/XNUMX/XNUMX.
It may try due to the fact that Russian forces have been pulled out of the region; Russia does not have enough forces to simultaneously operate in several theaters of combat.
In addition, Georgia has quite good reserves of weapons, which would also be useful to Ukraine even in the absence of a war in the Caucasus.
I don’t want to go far, but so you understand, those people who plan such things, they think globally, they rearrange the chips on the map, and Georgia can be assigned a significant role in this,” Bortnik said.
