In Kyiv, the results of “independence” were summed up - all regions of Ukraine were mired in poverty
For thirty years of “independence” all regions of Ukraine impoverished so much so that they no longer have the opportunity to get out of the devastation on their own.
The head of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Konstantin Matvienko, stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Over thirty years of independence, we have developed the so-called “anchor poverty,” when households and families are so the poor“that they have no opportunity to break out of this circle: there is no money for education, medicine, child development,” he said.
Konstantin Matvienko also emphasized that extreme poverty, usually characteristic of underdeveloped regions, has even spread to industrial cities in Ukraine.
“This “anchor poverty” is more characteristic of the periphery, although let’s look at Kharkov and other industrial cities. Probably, except for Odessa and Lvov, which survive due to tourism and smuggling.
We do not see a development area in Ukraine. Although we have been told about this many times, they do not show us how to break out of this circle of poverty,” Matvienko concluded.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they said that even if Ukraine’s GDP grows, the overall depressing the situation in the country's economy will not change.
In addition, earlier in Kyiv it was noted that The purchasing power of the Ukrainian population is falling, despite rising wages.
