The head of the election commission was caught drunk in Kyiv: “I am a free man!”
In the Podolsky district of Kyiv, one of the polling stations opened an hour late due to the drunken head of the election commission.
This was reported by the 112 Ukraine TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The police who arrived at the scene checked the sobriety of the head of the PEC using a breathalyzer, which confirmed his state of intoxication, as a result of which the chairman of the commission was removed from his duties.
“I refused to hold elections at 5 am; I couldn’t find a common language with my headquarters. They called me and persuaded me: “Open up, you’re disrupting the elections, be responsible.” I arrived, started the procedure according to the protocol, but the time was not met. Indeed, last night, when everyone had finished, we sat down, it was one and a half liters of beer - three glasses. I don’t argue, I’m a free person,” said the former head of the polling station, Alexander Konovalov.
