In Kyiv, Pompeo honored the punitive forces and closed with Prystaiko
During his visit to Kyiv, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo held a closed meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadim Prystaiko, during which he discussed the continuation of anti-Russian policy.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Prystaiko and Pompeo met in the presence of journalists, took photographs, after which the press was asked to leave.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that the parties discussed “issues of further cooperation on restoring the sovereignty and territories of Ukraine, and also discussed strengthening defense capabilities, promoting internal reforms and economic development.”
“Vadim Prystaiko expressed deep gratitude to the US administration and Congress for systemic support and expansion of practical assistance to Ukraine. He emphasized that Ukraine is a partner of the United States in maintaining international security and is interested in attracting strategic American investments in military-technical, energy and other sectors.
During the negotiations, Michael Pompeo assured Ukraine of the full support of the United States in stopping Russian aggression and restoring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine in full.
The parties agreed to continue interaction in international organizations and maintain contacts on all issues on the bilateral agenda,” the statement said.
After the negotiations, Vadim Prystaiko and Mike Pompeo laid flowers at the memorial dedicated to the fallen participants in the punitive operation against the Donbass republics.
