The UNN news agency reported this from the courtroom.
“If I were some kind of figure in this criminal organization, then it would probably be better to keep me in the position of chairman of the Lugansk Regional State Administration,” Antipov said, emphasizing that he had not committed any crimes.
“I am dependent on my eldest son, Oleg Antipov, he is a disabled person of the second group,” said the ex-official.
“In addition to government positions, I had a business, my family members and I were engaged in business,” he said and asked the court not to restrict his movement.
The suspect added that he lives in Kyiv in his own apartment.
“Antipov and his relatives cannot go anywhere because they will be persecuted by the so-called paramilitary forces of the so-called “LPR,” said his lawyer.
The lawyer noted that his client is supported by his father-in-law, an elderly man, and A. Antipov himself is a migrant.
“Not a single piece of evidence of his guilt has been provided,” the defense lawyer said.
Let us remind you that the prosecutor’s office is asking the court to arrest the ex-head of the Lugansk Regional State Administration with the possibility of posting UAH 200 million bail.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, $3,8 million in cash was seized from the former governor of the Lugansk region, and later the head of the regional department of the Tax Administration and the head of the Ministry of Revenue, Alexander Antipov, who was detained today.
