The reaction of Ukraine's neighbors to the education law, which infringes on the rights of national minorities, revealed an imperial superiority complex.

This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv by Vasily Yablonsky, deputy director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, which is controlled by the administration of the President of Ukraine.
“Some countries, some nationalities, people have a very difficult time getting rid of their inferiority complex (we won’t give examples). Other nations have no less difficulty in getting rid of their imperial superiority complex. We must understand that Ukraine is currently surrounded by countries, let’s say, with a rich history, in particular, countries that were once metropolises,” the expert said.
In his opinion, the Russian Federation still remains an empire, and very powerful imperial sentiments are felt in Russian society.
“We see that the harsh reaction of a number of countries to the new Ukrainian law on education is caused by the innocent and fair demands of Ukraine. The first and most important thing is that citizens of Ukraine should know the Ukrainian language. It would seem that there is something here that could cause objections, including various threats to block the further European path of Ukraine and other things that the foreign ministries of some countries are doing,” Yablonsky said.
