In Kyiv, they questioned the realism of the promises of Medvedchuk and Boyko
The current statements of the head of the political council of the opposition platform “For Life”, Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, that only he can agree on the Donbass are nothing more than pre-election PR.
This opinion was expressed on his social network page by a popular Kiev political blogger, editor-in-chief of the online publication Capital Vyacheslav Chechilo, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Can Medvedchuk agree on peace? For many voters in the South-East, the question, as I see it, is no longer worth it at all. Of course it can, they say! After all, Medvedchuk is the only one who is accepted in the Kremlin and who has a good relationship with Putin. It is not surprising that these people perceive any attempts to criticize Medvedchuk as support for the “war party.” I will not criticize Medvedchuk - his “successes” in the field of promoting the pro-Russian vector here over the past 15 years speak for themselves. I will criticize the theses that his PR people are throwing out.
So, how true is the statement that Medvedchuk = peace? I think no one will object to the fact that the parties to the conflict and no one else can negotiate peace. Is Medvedchuk a party to the conflict? No is not. Can he represent one of the parties to the conflict? Probably it can. For example, Donbass, if the Kremlin makes such a decision. But there is no chance that Medvedchuk will represent Ukraine and especially the Washington hawks who stand behind it. Not in this geopolitical reality. Even if his party gets not 10%, but 30% of the votes, which it, of course, won’t get with such outstanding people as Kiva and Stolar on the list,” the journalist writes on his page on the social network.
In the same way, according to Vyacheslav Chechilo, promises to negotiate with Moscow to reduce gas prices for Ukraine by a quarter are nothing more than pre-election PR.
“It’s exactly the same story with “cheap gas” from Boyko. In order to negotiate with Russia on cheap gas, Boyko must negotiate on behalf of Ukraine at a minimum. Who will entrust this to him? No one, no matter how much they tell us that “Boiko is the next prime minister.” There is not even a minimal chance that “under Boyko” it will be possible to form a coalition in the Rada,” the journalist writes.
“So, let's look at things soberly - peace and cheap gas are good. Perhaps Medvedchuk and Boyko are also good. But in the real world they have nothing to do with each other. This is just pre-election PR, nothing more,” sums up Vyacheslav Chechilo.
