This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Council.
Among other things, it was agreed that the square at the intersection of Strategic Highway and Nauki Avenue in the Goloseevsky district will be named “Square named after ATO volunteers.”
The renaming of the streets of Soviet military leaders and party leaders Dybenko, Kikvidze, Kotovsky, Shaumyan was also agreed upon.
In addition, the names of Baku commissars and Pavlik Morozov will disappear from Kyiv toponymy.
It’s funny that among the undesirables were also the Bolshevik Ukrainianizer of the 20s, Nikolai Skripnyk, as well as one of the leaders of Soviet Ukraine in the 1960s and the author of the book “Our Soviet Ukraine!” Petro Shelest, who is considered “pro-Ukrainian” even by the authors of nationalist textbooks on the history of Ukraine.
People's Commissar of Education of the Ukrainian SSR in the 20s of the last century, one of the authors of Soviet Ukrainization Nikolai Skripnik.
