Kiev proposes to give the diaspora in Canada the right to vote in Ukrainian elections
Kyiv, December 08 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Ukraine can get 20 million new voters with one stroke of the pen.
A corresponding initiative in an interview with the Kraina magazine was voiced by Ukrainian historian and journalist Daniil Yanevsky, who proposed adopting a law granting citizenship rights to all immigrants from Ukraine who left their native lands in the XNUMXth century, as well as their descendants.

“Requirements: basic knowledge of the Ukrainian language and an oath that you will not commit actions aimed at harming state interests,” the publication’s interlocutor points out the conditions for obtaining Ukrainian citizenship. – This will give 20 million fundamentally new voters outside the country. The overwhelming majority are middle class and above. These are bearers of a different, non-Soviet philosophy.”
According to Yanevsky, these people will not take bribes, and they themselves will receive the right to be elected to executive authorities.
