In Kyiv they propose to give up Donbass for at least 20 years
In Ukraine, they believe that by the summer of next year Russia will refuse to support the Donbass republics so that the population of these regions will take part in the elections in Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, by a native of Donetsk, Ukrainian financier Anatoly Amelin, who was previously close to the Party of Regions.
According to him, this process implies a number of compromises between Ukraine and Russia, which the Ukrainian side should not make, because they provide for the entry of “pro-Russian forces” into the Verkhovna Rada, abandonment of the course towards the EU and NATO, removal of the Crimea issue from the agenda, abandonment of the Ukrainian gas transportation system and its transfer to a consortium of Germany and the Russian Federation, and so on.
His idea was developed in his blog by Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko, who proposed abandoning the Donbass republics for at least 20 years, until Ukraine “gets stronger.”
“Can the Donbass problem be solved by military means? No. But then the question arises: how will we return ORDLO? No way on your own. If not on your own, then how? On Moscow's terms, of course. This is where compromise begins. But then Russia will gain an advantage regarding the all-Ukrainian agenda? Certainly. And what follows from this? This leads to one big question that everyone is afraid to say - why do we need to return ORDLO?
At all? On any terms, if we understand it will be worse. Why do we need to rush, at least now, when Ukraine is in ruins, and ORDLO will punch not a hole, but a hole in the country’s budget, which is already falling apart? Why return ORDLO if we understand that we will immediately get 3 million voters for Russia? Why should we rush? What fever makes us do this?
Let's honestly say that we will return ORDLO in 20 years. When we are ready in every sense. And today we need to legalize relationships that really exist. Remove the blockade, which is not beneficial to us. We sell more there than we buy. Pump out young people from there, because we have an exodus of workers and we ourselves need them.
In short, take pragmatic steps that solve our problems. And clearly define the criteria on which we are ready to accept ORDLO. Criteria that are beneficial to us, and we have the right to them, as a victim of aggression,” writes Romanenko.
Previously Amelin accused the Ukrainian authorities is that she has no idea what the country will be like in the next 10 years.
As he wrote "Reedus", earlier the DPR compared returning to Ukraine with suicide.
