In Kyiv they propose to cancel decommunization in order to please Donbass
Before holding elections in Donbass, Ukraine must repeal the decommunization law that established a fence between Ukraine and the Donbass republics.
Human rights activist Vladimir Chemeris stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In order for future elections, say, local ones, which, according to our president, will take place throughout the entire territory of Ukraine, everything needs to change. For example, the law on decommunization, a number of initiatives of the Institute of National Remembrance, which essentially built a fence between Donbass and controlled Ukraine, must be destroyed. Only then can we say that democratic elections are possible for us, and only then can we say that this is in the interests of Ukraine,” Chemeris said.
At the same time, as PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky admitted, which has a normal attitude towards decommunization, is not going to cancel it and called the glorification of Stepan Bandera, who collaborated with the Nazis, “normal and cool”.
