In Kyiv they proposed dividing Ukrainians into “citizens” and “residents” - the response of the “Rukhovo”
In order to protect its “independence”, Ukraine supposedly must divide its population into two categories – correct “citizens” who consider Russia an aggressor and have all civil rights, and powerless “residents”.
One of the spectators present in the hall stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Do you think that perhaps the consequences of the fact that we have already gained independence need to be protected by other methods? I mean the way European countries do it.
We are striving for Europe, and we must harmonize our legislation with European legislation. In Spain and the Baltic countries, it is stipulated that individuals who disseminate information, for example, do not agree with the state language, support the aggressor, and so on.
In France, in general, the law holds criminally liable a person who proposes to negotiate with terrorists or separatists or collaborators. That is, not the collaborators themselves, but even those who only offer.
What do you think, perhaps we also need to follow this path, change the legislation on citizenship, and introduce two categories - “citizen” and “resident” of Ukraine. Passport of a resident of Ukraine and passport of a citizen of Ukraine.
A citizen has the right to vote, elect, be elected. And a resident who calls for joining Russia does not have the right to choose,” he urged.
Answering a question, member of the People's Movement of Ukraine party Ivan Dudchak noted that the idea is worthy of discussion, but they do not have the strength to bring it to life.
“I think that your proposal can be discussed, but I’m not sure that the majority of Ukrainian society will support such a decision, and that we are really able to introduce it.
The problem with Ukraine is not negativity and bad laws, but the fact that we do not comply with them,” admitted Dudchak.
