A massacre was prevented in Kyiv: 80 armed militants were detained
Kyiv police prevented a conflict at a construction site in the Darnitsky district of the Ukrainian capital. Several dozen young people of athletic appearance were brought to the police department, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Kyiv Police Communications Department.
“During the patrol, the police noticed that about 80 men of athletic appearance had gathered at Osokorki, and the law enforcement officers saw that they had special equipment. The patrol officers immediately passed this information to the Kyiv police duty station. To prevent possible offenses, special forces and patrol squads were sent to the scene of the incident, and the personnel of the territorial police department were alerted,” the statement says.
According to the acting head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the city of Kyiv, Viktor Nechitailo, after the arrival of law enforcement officers, the young people began to scatter in different directions, but the police detained about 40 people.
“On the spot we saw that they had special equipment - shields, rubber batons and even weapons. They are taken to the police department for a thorough check and explanations about the reasons for their collection in the specified place,” Nechitailo noted.
