In Kyiv they warn that opponents of the regime will have their own Yaroshis and Biletskys
On May 9, the Ukrainian government suffered a humanitarian defeat from that part of society that did not accept the established order.
Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He believes that the massive participation of Ukrainian citizens in the celebration of Victory Day has become a form of hidden protest against the authorities, which every year is gaining greater scope and forms more and more dangerous for the authorities with the threat of “transforming into an open form of confrontation.”
According to the expert, the nationalists did not receive permission from the authorities to take radical actions on May 9.
“On the other hand, they were imitative to a large extent: go to the Inter office, from where the broadcast is not carried out, or to the unfinished building of Lyovochkin. Only the most ardent supporters of right-wing radical ideas can believe in the sincerity of these actions. The defeat of the authorities is obvious, it took place on May 9,” says Bortnik.
He believes that in the next political cycle there will be a “counter-reaction of society” from 70–80 percent of those for whom May 9 is a holiday.
“This counter-reaction will intensify. We are waiting for this part of society to begin to generate new leaders. Today this part of society is noticeable, but the level of its trust in regular leaders and parties in this sector of politics is very low. I think that with the weakening of the pressure from the authorities, this part of the societies will generate new Yaros, Biletskys and leaders of the same level, who will probably lead people in the next political cycle,” predicts Bortnik.
