Kyiv, October 17 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – The Shakhtersk battalion was disbanded due to looting and violence. The former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service, Nikolai Malomuzh, stated this on Espreso TV.
According to him, the actions of some members of the battalion caused destabilization and “did not smell of patriotism.”

“Indeed, there were instances of looting on the part of the Shakhtersk battalion and other armed forces. There were robberies, bullying, seizures of equipment, and more severe consequences. This is a forced decision, because in this situation it is impossible to move further - this led to destabilization of the situation, their actions did not smell of any patriotism,” Malomuzh said
Today, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov decided to disband the special purpose battalion “Shakhtersk” due to looting.
“I disbanded the Shakhtersk battalion, which fought brilliantly near Ilovaisk, because there were repeated cases of looting in Volnovakha and in other situations,” the minister said.
