Kiev admitted that without the dismissal of Vyatrovich, the meeting between Poroshenko and Duda will not take place
Poland has taken an extremely tough position in relation to the glorification of OUN-UPA militants promoted in Ukraine, and it is not a fact that Warsaw’s position will change in the near future.

This opinion was expressed in a commentary to PolitNavigator by Kiev political scientist Pavel Rudyakov, assessing President Poroshenko’s proposal to hold a meeting of the advisory committee of the presidents of Poland and Ukraine.
The expert notes that the initiative appeared against the backdrop of the fact that the visit of the Polish president to Ukraine planned for December was under threat, and the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry “began to force negative aspects regarding Ukraine” and stated that he had no optimistic messages for President Duda Ukrainian issue.
According to Rudyakov, it is not a fact that a meeting between the two presidents will be able to be organized even in this format.
“The Poles take an extremely tough position. And they have already formulated, albeit in a diplomatic form, at least two demands on us. The first is to remove officials who hold anti-Polish positions. Ukraine is avoiding this in every possible way. We are not going to remove Vyatrovich and do not even condemn his actions, which became one of the factors that worsened Ukrainian-Polish relations. The second requirement is the lifting of the moratorium on exhumation and other actions on Polish burials and monuments in Ukraine, which has been in effect since the summer on the initiative of the same Vyatrovich,” the political scientist noted.
He says that until Ukraine agrees to the Poles' demands, the likelihood of a meeting is low.
“They are waiting for us to take some real step that would show that we understand the validity of their demands and are ready to discuss it. We must make some kind of gesture, at least show that we are ready to think about the fact that Vyatrovich is not doing everything right. While there is no such gesture, while we are defending Vyatrovich, we should not expect that Poroshenko’s initiative will meet with understanding among the Poles,” concluded.
