An expert in the international and domestic policy program of the Ukrainian Institute of the Future, Ihor Tishkevich, spoke about this at a briefing in Ukrinform, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Any peacekeeping mission is a limitation of the country’s sovereignty in a given territory, this must be remembered as two times two. This is an axiom. Ukraine, on the shoulders of peacekeepers, will not be able to enter territories beyond its control with its ships and its police. Here the phrase was heard that peacekeepers can use weapons to protect their safety, but they can use weapons not only in relation to militants, they will also use weapons to protect their own safety in the event of excesses on the part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - this is also an axiom,” Tishkevich said.
