Oleg Ustenko, executive director of the International Blazer Foundation, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. According to him, this indicates further impoverishment of the population.
“Unfortunately, despite the fact that there was a sharp slowdown in inflation rates in 2017, it still remains very high. This is the highest inflation in Europe and one of the highest inflations in the world. According to the results of this year, the inflation that Ukraine will show is almost 15%. This means that what could be bought at the beginning of the year for 1000 hryvnia, on average at the end of the year you will have to pay 1150 hryvnia. Inflation drags down the standard of living of the population. An increase in the inflation rate means that potentially the population, if not getting poorer, is certainly not getting richer,” Ustenko said
