This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv by the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management Ruslan Bortnik, who said that the latest statements critical of Ukraine Polish leaders are a bad signal for Kyiv.
“We are literally losing one of our key partners before our eyes. Previously, Poland had the image of “Ukraine’s lawyer,” but in fact it turned into one of the beneficiaries of the Ukrainian crisis – in a population, technical, and monetary sense. Today, the Polish leadership, despite the benefits acquired in the Ukrainian crisis, has less and less room for maneuver and political cooperation with the current Ukrainian leadership,” the expert believes
“Polish public opinion does not understand how one can support and lobby for the interests of a country that glorifies people who, according to Polish law, are considered guilty of the genocide of the Poles,” Bortnik added. – Even understanding the full extent of the current aggravation, Polish politicians find themselves hostage to public opinion, which leaves them less and less opportunities to lobby Ukraine. Instead of a “lawyer of Ukraine” in the EU, we see, if not an opponent, then a very unfriendly country.”
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada stated that Poland is the same enemy for Ukraine as Russia.
