Kiev admitted that in order to extend sanctions they would again expose ships to attack
The Ukrainian Navy may commit another provocation in the Kerch Strait with the support of NATO ships and even aircraft.
This opinion was expressed on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, by former Ukrainian actor Alexei Arestovich, who is today presented in the media as a military expert.
According to him, Ukraine “must” challenge the Russian Federation.
“I think that our ships will go to the Kerch Strait accompanied by NATO ships. For example, in Berdyansk. And it will also be tracked or observed from the air, by aviation, for example, from Britain or the USA... We must go there to prove that this is our territory. We must challenge Russia - if our ships are passing freely, then why were the rest of the ships detained, and on what basis do they continue to be detained. If they resist, then this is the second act of Russian military aggression against Ukraine. And these are already sanctions, or maybe something more than sanctions,” Arestovich said.
Earlier, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called for an increase in military presence alliance in the Black Sea.
The same request was made in an interview with the German newspaper Bild voiced by the country's President Petro Poroshenko. At the same time, Germany rejected the calls of the Ukrainian authorities.
