People's Deputy Nadezhda Savchenko admitted that the Ukrainian government is putting Ukrainian citizens who disagree with the current policy in prison on charges of “separatism” only in order to then exchange them for military personnel from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and national battalions who were captured in Donbass, as well as nationalists serving their sentences in Russian prisons.

This recognition of Savchenko made in an interview with Hromadske Radio.
“Those Russians who are sitting in Ukraine, they are such “exchange material,” excuse me, no matter how bad it may sound, for our political prisoners. Those separatists, collaborators and people who rebelled against Ukraine, being citizens of Ukraine, and are on the territory of Ukraine, they are equivalent in exchange for our imprisoned guys, patriots who are now in Donbass,” Savchenko said.
