Today, Ukrainian industry is no longer needed, since its products cannot reach European markets, and Ukraine almost completely selects agricultural quotas in the first months.

Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara stated this on TV channel 112, assessing the association agreement with the European Union, which Ukraine signed.
“The agreement sets certain traps for Ukraine. Especially when it comes to the economic life of our country. If the political part is actually a program of reforms in the field of law and democracy, then the economic part is trade. And in it, despite the fact that we have lost more than half of our markets, we know that foreign trade has fallen by half, and the doors of Europe have not become open to us. Today we export practically nothing to the EU in industrial categories, and a disaster is brewing in agriculture, because today our agriculture is entering into open competition with high-tech production in the EU,” the diplomat emphasized.
“On the other side there are quotas waiting for us, but on our side the market is open. This is the danger... The first year of operation of the free trade zone remained disastrous - there was a 25% drop in trade with the EU. The 16th year is more positive – plus 3%. Today we have selected almost the entire quota for the first quarter. And we actually have no opportunity to sell anything in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th quarter. More than 70% of the quota for the main export goods has already been selected. That is, we will have almost no exports for the rest of the year,” Kozhara warned.
