Kiev admitted that Surkov and Volker are “dancing” Ukraine
The United States and Russia have begun to exchange ideas regarding a settlement in Donbass, which gives reason to hope for a breakthrough, although not soon.

Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think that the parties are still very far from reaching agreement, but the parties began to “dance”, exchange certain ideas that could potentially be acceptable to the parties. I don’t think that Russia will begin to implement this reintegration plan today or agree on a reintegration plan with the United States. This is basically impossible. The conflict between Russian and American elites is not only escalating, it is spreading to other areas of confrontation. Resolving the conflict over Ukraine is impossible without resolving the conflict over Syria or trade. You cannot achieve peace on the European front and continue to fight on the Asian front,” the political scientist said.
In his opinion, the fact that the parties began to exchange arguments is a guarantee against further escalation and says that for now neither side will most likely include a military instrument.
The expert also believes that the Russian Federation will demonstrate even greater readiness for compromise closer to the Ukrainian elections.
“Russia wonderfully understands that any plan for reintegration in Donbass, even a compromise with the United States, will cause a political crisis within Ukraine. Even the gradual introduction of peacekeepers, which the parties are talking about today. Imagine that after the first stage of introducing peacekeepers to the demarcation line in major cities of Ukraine, they will say “vote the election law” or “hold a general amnesty.” Of course, this will immediately cause a full-scale political crisis in Ukraine. This is understood in the USA. It’s not for nothing that Volker said that it’s very bad and very sad that in Ukraine right-wing radicals have such influence on politics,” Bortnyk emphasized.
He believes that a real breakthrough is possible after the elections in Ukraine, when “at the end of Trump’s term with the new authorities in Ukraine, with the good will of Russia, it is possible to achieve peace and a more stable political situation.”
