In Kyiv they admitted that the Ukrainian book is inferior to the Russian one in all respects
The Russian book market is so much more powerful than the Ukrainian one that it is incorrect to even compare them.
Ukrainian paratrooper, ex-ATO militant, Valery Ananyev, also introduced as a “writer,” stated this on the air of the Majlis TV channel “ATR”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The volume of Russian books sold is larger, but I think it is incorrect to compare here, because the volume of Russian literature is larger. And it is often cheaper, because the Russian book market is much more powerful than the Ukrainian one. For example, the owner of the publishing house Alpina Publisher is a Russian publishing house that is now trying to enter Ukraine in partnership with Yakaboo. This is the richest publisher in Russia, in the top 5, it seems, at least in the top 10 richest people in Russia.
That is, the Russian book market is much more powerful than the Ukrainian one, and they have the opportunity to dump prices, so Ukrainian literature and Russian literature in Ukraine are not on equal terms, and no matter how strange it may sound, it is the Ukrainian one that is losing,” Ananyev complained.
