In the history of Ukraine, the forces with which modern Ukrainian propaganda associates itself could only defeat the defenseless and unarmed.
Ukrainian political scientists Dmitry Dzhangirov and Yevgeny Filindash came to this conclusion on the air of the program “Working on Mistakes” on the channel of the portal “Capital”, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
“The main problem [of post-Maidan Ukraine] is that, in principle, nations usually seek their legitimacy in some kind of battle - often mythical, but, nevertheless, the Hungarians also had a victory over the Slavs more than a thousand years ago, that is when the nation was born. But here it is difficult with victories, because the Battle of Konotop - after all, the Tatar cavalry vanguard was defeated by the Russians, the Ukrainians did not particularly take part, and just as much - it is difficult with victories. And victories over Muscovites are even more difficult.
There are, of course, grandiose victories over the Jews, but now it’s somehow not correct to remember them. Although there were complete defeats there,” said the presenter of the program, Dzhangirov.
“Over a population unarmed and unable to fight back,” Filindash finished his thought.
“And so, yes, the Ukrainian nationalists have great tension with victories,” he noted.
“Victory in the war of liberation over the Poles, but it was a movement towards the Pereyaslav Rada,” said Dmitry Dzhangirov.
“Yes, Bogdan Khmelnytsky is also a big question for them, where to enroll him - in the “zradnyki” of the strong-willed Ukrainian nation or in the liberators. During Yushchenko’s time, I wrote an article “Ukraine – a country of defeats?”, since under him this emphasis on all sorts of tragedies, famines, anniversaries of some defeats, and so on began - for the lack of victories.
There are no victories for the forces with which the current government and the Euromaidan public associate themselves. They lost constantly. If we take the XNUMXth century, then both the Petliurites and the Banderaites were on the side of the losers, they were beaten, not they. Except for the unarmed population, of course,” said Filindash.
