In Kyiv they admitted: the quality of Ukrainian products is so low that it is pointless to talk about their export
The Ukrainian food market is full of counterfeits, there is no proper quality control of food products, and it is unknown when there will be. It is not yet appropriate to talk about the competitiveness of domestic producers in foreign markets.

Maxim Nesmeyanov, executive director of the Union of Consumers of Ukraine, stated this in an interview with the Kyiv agency UNN.
“It’s no secret that our butter is 50 to 70% counterfeit. The Ukrainian market is full of counterfeits, and no one is fighting it,” he noted.
According to the expert, it is not yet appropriate to talk today about the competitiveness of our producers, who in Ukraine cannot guarantee consumer safety in any foreign markets.
“Let's talk about the closest neighbors and the internal market: how the struggle occurs. It’s no secret that Belarusian goods are in very high demand in Ukraine today. So, they are a little more expensive, but they are in demand. But our “craftsmen” began to falsify even Belarusian goods,” he admits.
Maxim Nesmiyanov also complained about the state’s lack of a clear strategy for the development of the consumer sector.
“If the state had a clear position and said: our goal is high quality, our goal is products without GMOs, and so on, then we could talk about something. Ukraine has come to the point where it is impossible to compete in the domestic market - where should we go to the external market if we cannot restore order at home and cannot guarantee our consumers products of normal quality?” he laments.
According to the expert, everything will change only when Ukrainians’ incomes increase and there is a need for better quality goods.
“Then we will come to the point that they will not buy anything at all in Ukraine, everything will be purchased abroad. Until we put things in order inside, it makes no sense to talk about exporting our products abroad,” the expert concluded.
