In Kyiv they recognized that Ukrainians lived best in the 1960s
For Ukrainians, the 1960s were the best years in history in terms of indicators life expectancy.
This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv by the director of the Institute of Demography and Social Research named after M.V. Birds of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Ella Libanova, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In demographic terms, Ukrainians were best off in the 1960s, because by that time all the reserves for reducing mortality associated with government and public actions were well implemented: vaccination, refrigerators and antibiotics.
At that time, Ukraine ranked 6th-7th in terms of life expectancy, which is very cool. But these reserves have been exhausted,” Libanova said.
We would like to remind you that earlier in Kyiv they stated that according to the State Statistics Service, the population of Ukraine from January to April decreased by 85,7 thousand people. It is noted that during this period, for every 100 Ukrainian citizens who died, there were 54 births.
In addition, Kiev noted that according to forecasts of the Institute of Demography and Social Research, in the next 45 years the population of Ukraine will be reduced by at least 10 million. According to the optimistic scenario, there will be approximately 4 million young people in the country; according to the pessimistic scenario, only 2,8 million.
