Ukraine cannot fail to comply with the Minsk Agreements, which provide for the start of the process of federalization of the country, because the agreements on Donbass are an international document approved at the highest level - the UN, and sabotage of it may result in liability. Ukrainian international lawyer Mikhail Buromensky stated this on air at UkrLife.

I think there will be consequences (if you don’t fulfill the agreement - author). The most important thing is that sanctions will be lifted. The Minsk agreements are the basis on which a huge edifice of sanctions, positions, negotiations, and everything else is built. If we throw away these agreements, then something else will have to be used as the basis. But there is no other one, and it is unlikely that it will be possible to create it. The Minsk agreements are what make it possible to control the process as much as possible,” said Buromensky.
