Ukraine should not agree that the delegation of the new State Duma of the Russian Federation will be represented in PACE, but should expect such developments.

Director of the Institute of Global Strategies Vadim Karasev stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.

“We need to prepare for the fact that, perhaps, the State Duma delegation will be returned to PACE. We have already given a reaction - the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Arev, and Irina Gerashchenko. We categorically do not accept this, these are correct statements, but we must prepare for the fact that we will have to work with them in PACE. It needs to be worked out. We actually said that we could leave PACE. But we are raising the stakes: if PACE accepts Russia, then we will have a maneuver in relation to PACE and our Western partners.”
