In Kyiv they called for the introduction of the death penalty for budget fraud
The disappearance of money allocated from the Ukrainian budget for the construction of the Museum of the Revolution of Dignity is another example of state corruption, from which those in power profit.
The head of the Sofia strategic group, Andrei Ermolaev, stated this on the NEWSONE TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is not abuse, this is not theft. In post-Soviet states, corruption is a systemic element. Regardless of whether it is carried out on a large construction site through subcontracting, or through humanitarian programs such as the Museum of the Revolution of Dignity.
The constant withdrawal of public funds through these types of programs is part of the accumulation of capital by those in power. This is a system element. Moreover, this replenishes their personal accounts and ensures the competitiveness of their commercial structures. This is another exploitation tool.
I am a radical when it comes to budget plunder. Not only is it necessary to criminalize articles related to state and local budgets, but perhaps it is worth thinking about restoring the death penalty,” said Andrei Ermolaev.
