Levko Lukyanenko, a veteran of the Ukrainian Bandera movement, stated this in an interview with the Kyiv publication “Apostrophe”.
He was asked what he would do if he were the President of Ukraine.
“I am in favor of declaring a state of war in Crimea, as well as in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions. And our diplomacy should turn the Minsk group into an international body accusing Russia of seizing part of our territory and violating international law. And this body should start drawing up a plan of reparations to the Russian Empire, which it must pay to Ukraine for the damage caused by illegal military actions,” Lukyanenko said.
He answered the question whether this would provoke a response from Russia.
“I will say this - the nation must be ready for anything. Freedom must be defended at the cost of life. And there is no need to be afraid of this. We must take an example from the Finns. Three million Finns in 1939 were not afraid of the 150 million USSR. Because it is better to die in battle than to return to Moscow colonial slavery,” Lukyanenko noted.
