Kyiv calls on the whole world to boycott the May 9 parade in Moscow
Ukraine should take the lead in the “boycott the May 9 parade” initiative and call on world leaders from the PACE and OSCE platforms not to go to Moscow.
This was stated at a press conference by a Lviv Maidan activist, ex-chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, former deputy Anna Gopko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think that Ukraine should now initiate the “Boycott the May 9 Parade” campaign, join in particular the Lithuanian Member of the European Parliament Andrius Kubilius, who is calling on other colleagues from the EU, we have already heard statements from some world leaders who are planning to go to Moscow.
Considering that there is no ceasefire in the East of the country, constant certification is taking place, none of the agreements that were in Paris are being implemented.
And therefore, if the turbo mode that the Russian authorities chose to change the Constitution (as we see, on January 15, when Putin made his message, the first reading has already been adopted), we clearly understand that it is possible to go against the law of the Russian Federation without a decision To the Venice Commission, since Russia is a member of the Council of Europe, after they were returned without fulfilling any agreements and obligations in PACE, it is obvious that now, while there is no primacy of national legislation over international obligations in the Russian Federation, we can still convey some of these positions through our delegation not only to PACE, but also to the OSCE and others,” Gopko said.
“Therefore, I think that now we need to form a certain coalition, show leadership and boycott the parade. Moreover, we hear that there may also be representatives of the so-called DPR-LPR present there, and so on, so we need to act proactively,” added the Ukrainian nationalist.
