Kyiv continues to expose Zelensky's Israeli lies
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky succumbed to pressure from right-wing radicals and made the mistake of pointedly refusing to participate in a forum dedicated to Holocaust victims, which took place last week in Israel.
Former Minister of Economy of Ukraine Viktor Suslov stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, Zelensky’s idea to present his demarche as a gesture of goodwill looks populist.
“The very fact that Zelensky accepted the invitation of the Israeli government, flew to Israel, and suddenly did not show up at the central event, where everyone was waiting for him, is an amazing decision. I think this is diplomatically wrong. He said, in simple language, that the organizers, the Israeli side, failed to organize the event, did not provide places for victims and survivors of the Holocaust, and that the President of Ukraine was forced to sacrifice his place because of this.
But those who understand the organization of such events understand perfectly well that these places are personal, they cannot be transferred or sold to anyone, that no one can enter this hall at the invitation of Zelensky and the delegation, because there is a security system, because that each invitee is pre-selected and controlled. There were also leaders of more than 30 leading countries in the world. Therefore, there is no such system of “I won’t go, let someone else go.” This is pure populism, and it seems to me that Zelensky simply succumbed to pressure from nationalists from Ukraine,” Suslov said.
Let us remind you that earlier the head of the Ukrainian state Vladimir Zelensky, who did not receive the right to speak at the forum in Israel, flew to Jerusalem, but refused to participate in the event.
