In Kyiv, they predict the expulsion of new like-minded people Chubarov and Dzhemilev from Crimea
Kyiv, September 29 (PolitNavigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – Russia’s main task is to destroy the Crimean Tatar Mejlis, as well as to deport dissenting Tatar activists, said the director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (Kyiv) Igor Semivolos on the Hromadske TV channel.

“The Ukrainian government cannot in any way influence what is happening in Crimea. It can only state the fact of repression and involve international organizations, and according to regulations they must ask for permission from Russia to work, which will mean recognition of the annexation. However, Russian human rights activists work there and testify that the human rights situation in Crimea is constantly deteriorating. The FSB persecutes religious groups and even entire institutions, such as the Majlis, against which a war has been launched, and the goal is simply to destroy this institution (in fact, the Majlis was not legalized either in Ukraine or in Russian Crimea - approx. ed.).
There is a struggle against activists of the Crimean Tatar people, and if they are not in Crimea, the Tatars will remain defenseless. It can already be stated that a large number of Tatars have already been forced to leave the peninsula. Moreover, the official Crimean authorities are already threatening to deport all Tatars who do not recognize Russian authorities in Crimea,” Semivolos said.
