In Kyiv they predict the fate of the Serbian Krajina for Donbass
The return of Donbass to Ukraine is not just the return of territories, but a subsequent complete reset of Kyiv’s domestic and foreign policy, which is impossible under the current regime.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on air on the 112 TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is important for Russia not just to return Donbass to Ukraine back. This is not only a question of returning territories. This is a question of geopolitical positioning of Ukraine. Roughly speaking, the current government is refusing to join the EU and NATO in exchange for the return of territories. Further, this is a change in the configuration of national identity. What kind of national identity will Ukraine have with Donbass?
Is it an exclusively Ukrainian Ukraine or a multinational one with Donbass and other semi-autonomous regions? What form of state is it, centralized or decentralized on a scale ranging from confederal to unitary? In our country, these problems have not been solved,” said the political scientist.
“It’s not just about returning the territory. When you return Donbass, as you will after the Great Patriotic War, we have World War II. Their language is Russian, they love Stalin, they do not recognize the Holodomor. Or according to the model of Bosnia and Herzegovina, when the Serbian Krajina - they have one history, in general a different way of life, but the Bosnians and Croats have a completely different way of life.
We don’t think about this, we are just thinking about returning the territory, as it was in other countries - no, if there was only a problem with territories, Russia would have taken these territories long ago,” Karasev added.
