The West must arm Ukraine to the teeth, creating a “NATO showcase” that would simultaneously attract and deter Russia.
Valentin Badrak, director of the Center for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Research, stated this during a round table in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the Ukrainian expert, this would make it possible to “improve” Ukraine, bring it out of the crisis and attract the sympathy of Russians who are dissatisfied with the state of affairs in the Russian Federation.
“We would really like to count on some joint opportunities, joint actions. For the West, it would probably be very interesting for Ukraine to be so armed. As we now constantly say, so that Ukraine would look good as an armed, powerful showcase of the Western world.
In this way, it would also attract Russian citizens as a country that has recovered and turned into a successful country. And thus, we could carry out deterrence, including with the help of NATO countries,” Badrak said.
