Kyiv, July 15 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – On Monday evening in Kyiv they once again protested against France’s sale of Mistral helicopter carriers to Russia: Ukrainian activists tried to interfere with a closed banquet on the occasion of Bastille Day, which was held by the French embassy.

Activists staged a picket near a house on Desyatinnaya Street in Kyiv, where a private banquet was being held. Those gathered held posters and chanted slogans, demanding that the French government abandon cooperation with Russia.
One of the activists lay down on the steps in front of the building where the banquet was held and covered with the Ukrainian flag so that those who were invited to the banquet were forced to step over the young man.
Among the guests were human rights activist Vladimir Chemeris and deputy Nikolai Martynenko, which caused particular indignation among those gathered.
As a result, Chemeris did not dare to go to the banquet and stayed with the protesters, while Nikolai Martynenko entered the building, stepping, like the rest of the invitees, over an activist wearing a Ukrainian flag on the steps.
One of the Orthodox hierarchs in a white hood also went to the banquet; at the same time, those gathered began shouting “Moskal priest!” The cleric accompanying the hierarch explained that he belongs to the “Kyiv Patriarchate”, and therefore cannot in any way be “Moscow”.
One of the protesters managed to get onto the porch of the building, despite the security, where the protester declared that she was the real Queen of France, and that she was “excommunicating the Mistral.”
Those gathered also unfurled huge flags of Ukraine and France, sang the Ukrainian anthem and a traditional song about Putin, and repeatedly wished glory to Ukraine and death to their enemies.
