“Over the past 95 hours, we have noted the use of Tu-XNUMX heavy bombers in the area of the Crimean Peninsula. They practiced, firstly, launching a missile and bomb strike on the territory of Ukraine, and secondly, launching a missile strike on the naval bases of the countries of the Black Sea region. The situation is aggravating because it is near our borders. there is a large amount of weapons, equipment and personnel,” Skibitsky said.
The Main Intelligence Directorate's Facebook page states that the three Tu-95MS bombers belong to the 22nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Division.
“Three Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the 22nd heavy bomber aviation division (Engels, Saratov region) of the long-range aviation command of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Armed Forces flew in the airspace of the Black Sea and occupied Crimea and worked out the issue of the conditional use of on-board weapons (frontier missile launch: Evpatoria - Sevastopol) against targets in European countries,” the statement said.
