The West is being scared in Kyiv: Russia could seize Lithuania
In the near future, Russia may allegedly send troops into the territory of Lithuania, occupy it, and install a government loyal to Moscow in Vilnius.
Dmitry Gromakov, head of research projects at the RAND Center, stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“With the intensification of Russia’s aggressive policy with Belarus, the question has arisen again: how will NATO react? It takes a matter of hours to capture some part of Lithuanian territory.
And then raise the issue of de-occupation of these territories. At the next elections in Lithuania, a political force more loyal to Russia may emerge,” he said.
Dmitry Gromakov also emphasized that NATO countries can refuse to use force and try to solve this problem diplomatically.
“And there are already reasons for this. But how will NATO react? Will they negotiate, or will they repel this aggression with missiles and their manpower?” – the expert summarized.
