“Who else but the Crimeans—to whom this flow is directed—will manage these processes more effectively,” Maxim Sokolov expressed his opinion, not without irony,” the publication quotes the head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.

“The Day” recalls the scandal that was inspired by Aksenov’s Simferopol, greedy for all types of “nationalization”:

“Not without irony,” because the roots of this “castling,” which caused outright pessimism among transport workers in Crimea, lie in the summer scandal that Sergei Aksenov caused to the leadership of the “Unified Transport Directorate,” which allegedly could not cope with the flow of tourists leaving Crimea, when several thousand cars lined up on the Crimean side of the strait. Even then, representatives of the ETD and the Ministry of Transport of Russia responded to the “head of Crimea” that unrest and disorganization were observed on the Crimean side of the crossing, and Sergei Aksenov, before criticizing the ETD, should have brought order to the Kerch side, since in Port “Caucasus”, supposedly, everything it was ok. The minister, taught by the bitter experience of operating the crossing in 2014, clearly hinted that the Crimean “government” in 2015 would find it just as difficult to cope with the flow of traffic, but then they would have to criticize themselves. He clearly anticipates a transport collapse in Crimea next summer, rejoicing that he was able to shift responsibility from the Krasnodar to the Crimean side of the strait,” the newspaper states.

Moreover, The Day emphasizes, the transfer of the crossing “together with responsibility for its functioning to Crimea represents part of the general trend that is observed today in Moscow’s relations with Crimea and Sevastopol.”

“The Crimean public, who saw with their own eyes the inability of the “government” to solve existing problems, perceived the acquisition of the crossing at their disposal as clearly negative,” the publication notes.

“It is natural that solving the problems of building ports and ships of various types, building new railways and expanding railway rolling stock is beyond the power of the Crimean government. Moreover, Moscow is clearly in time trouble. All this was needed “yesterday”, and even more so in 2015, but to solve any of these problems it will take at least 3-4, or even 5 years. And Moscow understands this. Therefore, in Crimea they believe that the federal government simply left Crimea without support and already in 2015, in particular at the Kerch crossing, a collapse is inevitably planned, for which Moscow will blame the regional authorities in order to have a reason to remove them.

But what will this give? It will “let off steam” for a while, and then everything will go in circles again. Russia is no stranger to this style of work. And the “beloved by all”, favored “Russia’s No. 1 region” Crimea will not be an exception,” predicts The Day.
