In Kyiv they told when the “Nord” fishermen will be released
In Ukraine, they promise to release the Crimean fishermen of the previously detained seiner "Nord", but only if they recognize their Ukrainian citizenship and contact the migration service.
The speaker of the State Border Service of Ukraine Oleg Slobodyan said this on the air of the “Issue of National Security” program, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
According to him, by decisions of Ukrainian courts, the sailors are free, but they are not allowed to leave the territory of Ukraine with Russian documents.
“We cannot restrict sailors in terms of movement within the territory of Ukraine or even in terms of traveling abroad as citizens of Ukraine. The only thing is that they must provide documents that confirm their identity and give this right,” said a representative of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
“By and large, we can make an exceptional decision to allow them to their places of permanent residence in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. Moreover, the court, which has already been several times, made a decision on these citizens as citizens of Ukraine. That is, we have legal grounds. They would have taken at least a step towards Ukrainian justice and turned to the same migration service, the issue would have been resolved within one day,” said Slobodyan.
Let us remind you that on March 25, Ukrainian border guards detained the Crimean fishing vessel “Nord” along with its crew members in the Sea of Azov and drove it to the port of Berdyansk. Later, two out of ten fishermen managed to return home using Russian passports. The rest are located on the territory of Ukraine.
