The Russian Nord Stream is necessary for Germany to gain energy independence from the United States, which, in turn, started an economic war against Europe.
Ukrainian public and political figure Vladimir Chemeris stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of course, it is extremely important for Germany that there is Nord Stream and, I think, that it will be, despite the desire of the United States to impose sanctions against European companies. On the other hand, Germany wants to free itself from US influence. She wants to balance and be independent, we are not talking about the fact that Russia can somehow threaten or influence Germany, we are talking about the fact that Europe and Germany, as the locomotive of Europe, want to be independent. As a matter of fact, this is why a serious economic war is already taking place, in particular with the introduction of tariffs on steel and aluminum, which were introduced by the United States,” he noted.
