Ukrainians are annoyed: “We are more corrupt than Russia and Belarus and less free economically”
In Kyiv it was recognized that in Russia and Belarus things are much better with economic freedom than in Ukraine.
Coordinator of the civil platform “Successful Country” Pavel Sebastianovich said this on air on the Politeka Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We must not forget that our country, if we roll back 3 months, is one of the most corrupt countries and the most unfree countries. We are 130th in economic freedom and 122nd in perceptions of corruption, meaning it is a very unfree and very corrupt country. Therefore, I don’t know how this influences statements now, but, probably, there is such a thing that Ukraine is viewed as such a country - not a very reliable partner,” Sebastianovich said.
He compared Russia and Belarus with Ukraine.
“Less or more free, less or more corrupt – this is, after all, our subjective perception. We really want us to be freer than Russia, so that we are less corrupt than Russia.
But if we look at the ratings, the ratings tell a different story. Russia and Belarus are far ahead in terms of economic freedom. How is it not “cover us a little” [annoying to hear]? even the fact that there are tens of thousands of foreign companies doing their business in Russia, but not doing it in Ukraine,” the expert complained/
