Kyiv is disappointed: the West is not supplying modern tanks to Ukraine
The West refuses to supply modern armored vehicles to Ukraine, limiting itself only to gifts from former socialist countries.
Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Sergei Rakhmanin stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, only armored vehicles produced during the Soviet era are brought to Ukraine.
“If we cannot have the appropriate amount of armored vehicles, preferably of high quality, preferably with trained crews, then it will be quite difficult for us both in defense and, even more so, in the offensive. This is also a need.
In fact, for reasons unknown to me, this issue is not yet resolved for some reason. I thought that the issue of supplying tanks would be easier to resolve than, for example, the issue of supplying modern MLRS. Moreover, we have not yet been provided with aviation, this is only talk about aircraft, but these conversations are gaining specific addresses, but as for armored vehicles, unfortunately, not yet,” the deputy said.
“Yes, we received a certain number of Soviet tanks, post-Soviet tanks or modifications on the theme of Soviet tanks from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, North Macedonia, these are understandable tanks and still not enough of them, because the war leads to quite high losses from both parties,” said Rakhmanin.
