The conclusions of the Venice Commission on the new version of the Constitution of Ukraine are actually a proposal to legitimize the capitulation of Kyiv to Russia. TV presenter Evgeny Kiselev, who left the Russian Federation, stated this on the air of the Black Mirror talk show.

“In essence, it is proposed that Ukraine constitutionally consolidate its capitulation to Russia and adopt a law not on a special status, but on the application of a special mechanism for the law on elections in these territories. Roughly speaking, a law that will allow gentlemen like Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky to conduct elections as they please,” Kiselyov said.
Its former member Marina Stavniychuk also hints at the bias of the commission, who is surprised by the quick time frame for considering the new version of the basic law: “The Venice Commission gave preliminary recommendations on the decentralization project in the context of changes to the Constitution in three days. There were 25 comments. Recently, the Venice Commission, almost for the first time, made recommendations in three days. What’s surprising is that the commission itself recommends to Ukraine how to correctly write what needs to be adopted.”
