This initiative was made at a press conference in Kyiv by Valery Ryabykh, development director of Defense Express, who said that the thesis about Ukraine’s neutrality “is currently dangerous.”
“Experience has shown that outside of military blocs, Ukraine is under the threat of enemy influence and loss of subjectivity. Part of the sovereignty will need to be transferred to ensure its own security. We saw that unfounded declarations in the form of the Budapest Memorandum were unsuccessful. But we also saw what was proclaimed last year at the NATO summit, which clearly said that NATO will never leave Ukraine in terms of ensuring security and subjectivity. We must exploit the theses of the national interests of other countries in our own interests,” the expert suggests.
